About

With over 20 years of diverse experience in IT Infrastructure and Development, from Technical Project and Operations Management, Product Management, Full-stack Development, Consultancy to Learning Development since 2002

Yep, that's me.

Ohayo, I'm Abby (@TheNocturnalDevGypsy since 2002)

I'm a Technical Project and Operations Manager, Product Owner, Technical Writer, an old-school Full Stack Developer, and a (on-hiatus) CS/IT Assistant Professor. I also do commissioned Graphic Design for branding and social media. In my free time, I'm diving into AI text-to-image prompting, expanding my knowledge of Generative AI, Crypto & NFTs, active with maintaining some of my existing Open Source projects (I also contribute to other OS projects from time to time), laying the groundwork for new three open-source projects: a Static Site Generator, a Crypto Font Library, and a Link in Bio CMS, and playing around with my personal website.

I'm currently based in Asia, been in UAE, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Hong Kong, and Japan. I got based in Amsterdam, Netherlands for some time as well. Since April 2017, I've been settled in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and since May 2024, I've been dividing my time between there and Watthana, Bangkok, Thailand.

I call myself TheNocturnalDevGypsy since 2002 because my work life has always embraced a nomadic, after-hours spirit. I've spent countless late nights freelancing on projects, whether they were someone's website or college thesis / capstone. My studies and career have led me to roam from city to city (even overseas), keeping life fresh and unpredictable. I resonate with the term gypsy, not only for my love of jewelry and trinkets but also for the freedom and creativity my work brings.

This webspace is my creative playground: a place to showcase my work, experiment with ideas, and store pieces of my technical journey since January 2002. There's no strict theme here; it's more like a living folder that reflects my current mindset. Compiling my portfolio, testing new concepts, and regularly updating the site keeps my fingers and brain fast and healthy.

Hope you like it; I made with a lot of + !

Abegail, during our last 3 years working together, did a great job as a TPM. For a person, who stands between two worlds - Tech & Non-Tech persons, she can find common language with both crowds, helping both crowds to work smooth together. Her efforts, provide invaluable help to shield and isolate tech team from non-technical issues and tasks, filtering task flows and basic review, connecting different teams and departments on complex projects. This allows everyone to focus on their best - sysadmins keep eye on a system, developers keep coding, finance team keeps having a proper budgets planning (and well, panicking as usual).
If you need a person who will be gatekeeping for tech team, tying everything together for approvals, coordination and projects tracking, Abegail is right person to choose.
